An exceptional fabric

What is Cashmere?

At AGAIN Cashmere we honour a thousand-year-old legacy that connects humanity with the most inhospitable nature. From the heights of the Himalayas to the vast steppes of Mongolia, Capra hircus goats have developed an astonishing adaptation to their environment: ultra-fine down that protects them from extreme temperatures ranging from -50°C in winter to +45°C in summer. This fibre, hidden beneath their thicker outer fur, is the soul of cashmere: a noble material that transforms garments into unique pieces of softness and functionality.

Cashmere is made from the down inside goats, a natural thermal insulation that allows them to survive the most extreme climatic contrasts. This down, also known as duvet , is made up of ultra-fine fibres, approximately 15 microns thick, which contain tiny air chambers. These characteristics give cashmere its unique thermoregulation and breathability properties, difficult to match even by the most advanced synthetic fibres.

At AGAIN, we select the finest and purest fibers, ensuring exceptional quality in every garment. This commitment to excellence begins at harvesting, a process that combines respect for the environment and traditional techniques perfected over time.

How to care for my cashmere garments?

Here are our tips for washing and caring for your cashmere garments.

#1

HAND WASH:
Wash the garment in cold water and rinse it, without letting it soak. Gently press with a clean towel to remove excess water, avoiding wringing the garment.

Use a small amount of a special wool shampoo, without softeners.

#2

MACHINE WASH:
Machine wash only on a wool programme (-20°C) and spin at a maximum of 400 rpm. We recommend placing the garment in a special washing bag for knitwear.

Use a small amount of a special wool shampoo, without softeners.

#3

DRYING
Dry flat on a clean towel, away from light and heat. If you iron the garment, do so at a low temperature, preferably with a cloth on top.

What is the famous peeling in cashmere?

Pilling , also known as “pilling,” is a natural phenomenon that occurs in cashmere garments due to friction. The fine, soft fibers of cashmere tend to curl up when they rub against other surfaces, such as bags, jackets, or even during everyday wear. Although these pills may seem like a defect, they are actually a natural characteristic of high-quality fibers and do not affect the durability or quality of the garment.

Some extra tips:

Using a Cashmere Comb or an electronic lint remover is an ideal tool for removing pilling. By gently running the comb over the surface of the garment, you can pick up loose fibers without damaging the fabric.

Store your cashmere garments folded rather than hanging them to avoid tension that can promote pilling. You can use breathable cotton bags to protect them from dust and rubbing against other fabrics.

Rotate your use, giving your garment time to "rest" between uses. This allows the fibers to recover and reduces pilling.
